Intercounty

Unfortunately, the Waterford Senior Hurlers came up short in their All-Ireland semifinal against Limerick last Saturday. On behalf of everyone in the club we like to offer our commiserations to all involved, including our own lads Conor, Neil and Michael, and especially our thanks for the superb entertainment offered up over the past few weeks and months. Ye were a credit to yourselves and brought a great deal of joy to thousands.

On Monday the minor hurlers played Cork in the Munster Final with Billy O Connell, Charlie Treen, Seanie O Callaghan, Aidan Higgins, Darragh Walsh and Jack McGrath all involved. Hopefully we’ll be able to report some positive news next week.

Championship 2021

With the intercounty season now complete it’s time to gear up for the club championship. And what a game we have to kick things off with the 2020 Senior Football Final against Rathgormack fixed for Walsh Park at 17.00 on Saturday 21st August.

The games will be coming thick and fast from there on with the hurling championship for our 3 adult teams beginning in the next few weeks also.

Membership

As we return, we would like to emphasis the importance of getting your membership paid as soon as possible. If you have not already done so, please contact our membership officer Kevin Tobin on 087 9954448 to arrange payment. From a playing perspective it is compulsory that you are a member as it ensures you are included in the insurance scheme. Rates for this year are Adult €150 / Student €75, Married Couple (non-playing) €70, Single (non-playing) €50 and OAP €40. Of course, members of our 300 Club are fully covered.

Deise Super Draw 2021

The first draw of this year’s Deise Super Draw took place recently and Niamh Briggs won €100. The next draw will take place on 26th August.

Jack The Joker

The ever-popular Jack The Joker draw took place on Monday night last. Louise O Donnell was drawn and picked number 40. When turned this was not the Joker, but she did win €50. Ger D’Arcy and John Hurney won €25 each. The jackpot next week will be €1,400.
