Academy

It's always busy at the field on Saturday mornings and last Saturday was no different. Our U10's welcomed Stradbally to play a series of football matches and the boys did very well. It's great to see team play and skills developing with the boys moved the ball really well.

Our U9's were hurling training a d they look forward to welcoming St. Mary's (Clonmel) next Saturday.

U11

On Tuesday our U11 hurlers had an amazing day out in Cork. They were on the road early to take part in the Comhairle na Mumhan Activity Day in Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

The lads played mighty against Passage West, Kilworth Araglen, Fr Sheehys and Midleton and did the club proud with their performances. This was a great experience for the boys to play in a state of the art arena and memories have been made for life!

U12

Our U12 footballers got their div 4 championship off to a start last Friday evening. They lost out to a strong Clan na Geal side but they played well and never gave up. The division 1 side had to reschedule their match against Tramore.

U13

After what seems like an age, our U13's are back in championship action on Tuesday as they host Passage. The boys will be chomping at the bit to get back into competitive action having played plenty of useful challenges through the summer.

U15

Well done to both of our U15 hurling teams who recorded important wins against Tramore and Kilrossanty in the final stage of the round robin section of the championship.

The boys now look forward to the next phase of the competition so keep an eye out for the fixtures and get out to support the boys!

Camogie News

All Ireland Final

Hard luck to the Waterford Senior Ladies team, and to our own club players, Dearbhla and Megan, we are so proud of you, making history getting to an All- Ireland after 78 years! A lot of hard work, commitment and dedication is involved to get to an All-Ireland in Croke Park, so you can hold your heads high and no doubt you will be back!

All at Abbeyside camogie would like to say a big thank you for giving us a great year, and for inspiring our young players, they have some fantastic role models to look up to, as the saying goes "If she can see it, she can be it", onwards and upwards, and looking forward to next year!

Waterford Development Teams

We are very proud to have many club members involved in Waterford Development teams, what an honour for the girls!

At U-15 we have Aoife Lattimore, Sophie Norris and Abbie O Donnell, at U-14 Grainne de Paor, Sophie Carroll Lawlor and Amy Beresford, and at U-13 Shannon Radley and Laura Beresford. Our club is going from strength to strength, well done to all the girls!

This weekend was also special for our U-14 Waterford development squad who played and won the All- Ireland in a blitz on Saturday. They then had the honour of being part of the parade in Croke Park on All Ireland Sunday! Hopefully one day they and some of their other team mates will play there! The future of Waterford camogie is bright.
